Donald Gene "Groundhog" Bailes - Charleston Daily Mail
LEON - Donald Gene ?Groundhog? Bailes, 70, of Leon, W.Va., passed away Saturday, Jan. 10, 2004, following a short illness.
He was born Oct. 30, 1933, the son of the late George H. and Enith Tucker Bailes. He was a lifelong resident of Mason County, a retired machine operator for CONRAIL with 35 years of service, and a member of Oma Chapel.
Surviving him are his loving wife of 47 years, Corene Grady Bailes; daughters, Wilma Holland of Leon, Kimberly Rainey of Point Pleasant, W.Va., Tiffany Bailes at home; sons, Lee Allen Bailes at home, Bryan Scott Bailes of Leon, Donnie D. Bailes of Point Pleasant, Lonnie W. Bailes of Buffalo, W.Va., Raymond E. Bailes of Kenova, W.Va., Donald R. Bailes of Point Pleasant; sisters, Ernestine Hill and Irene Tucker, both of Eleanor, W.Va.; 13 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several step-grandchildren.
Service will be noon Wednesday, Jan. 14, at Oma Chapel Church, Grimms Landing, W.Va., with the Rev. Randy Parsons and the Rev. Carl "Mick" Bailes officiating. Burial will be at Craig Cemetery, Grimms Landing.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Raynes Funeral Home, Buffalo.
