Mt. Moriah Church Cemetery, Jackson Co, WV
Welcome
Most of my ancestors settled in Virgina starting in the 1600s, and steadily moved westward as the country opened up. In 1796, one of my ancestors was among the first to settle within the present boundaries of Jackson County, West Virginia, where soon others joined them and stayed to build in one of the most beautiful places on Earth. Descendants of so many of those families still live in the area and have intermarried so the genealogy of the area is like a big spider web. This is my attempt to connect all those pioneer families and follow their path back in time as far as possible.
I am very grateful to everyone who has shared their data with me.
