- SPENCER - Marie "Mom" Romine, 86, of Spencer, W.Va., went to meet her Heavenly Father on July 10, 2003, at Roane General Hospital in Spencer.
She was born July 7, 1917, in Roane County, a daughter of the late Benjamin and Ada Perkins Jones. She was a homemaker and a member of the Mount Lebanon Church.
She is survived by five children, Rita Bailey and Donald Romine, both of Reedy, W.Va., Goldie Casto of Spencer, Garnet Casto of Chesapeake, Ohio, and Clelene Harper of Spencer; three siblings, Adelene Grimm of Parkersburg, W.Va., and Junior and James Jones, both of Harmony, W.Va.; 13 grandchildren, including two grandsons, Tim and Jeff Casto, who she helped raise; and 19 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clellie Romine; one daughter, Maxine Truman; one granddaughter, Leslie Ann Fields; two sisters, Mabel Jones and Mary Rhodes; and three brothers, Herb, Dennis and Donald Gene Jones.
Service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, July 13,2003 at the Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home, Spencer, with the Rev. Larry Jones officiating. Burial will be in the Mount Lebanon Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
