      Denver James Rollins, 82, of Beckley, formerly of Putnam County, went home to meet his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, February 17, 2010.

      Born July 4, 1927, at home in Paradise, he was the son of the late James Monroe and Gracie-Mae Rollins.

      He was a retired auto body man who never knew a stranger and always had a joke to tell. He attended the First Church of the Nazarene in Beckley.

      After enlisting in the Army, he transferred to the Air Force and was stationed in Anchorage, Alaska, from 1944 until 1947.

      Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Beulah Rollins; his children, Ramona Dent of Fairfield, Ohio, Mary Scott and husband, Don, of Leon, and Rick Rollins and wife, Joyce, and Mike Rollins and wife, Jody, all of Beckley; seven grandchildren, Ricky Rollins and wife, Alexis, Joe Rollins and wife, Brandi, of Beckley, Stacey Myers and husband, Mike, of Charlton Heights, Mark Adkins and wife, Denise, of Burlington, Ky., Carrie Bell and husband, Joe, of Taylor Mills, Ky., Josh Rollins of Columbus, Ohio, and Phil Bowling and companion, Devan; and 15 great-grandchildren.

      Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, February 20, at the First Church of the Nazarene, Beckley, with Pastor Richard Wagoner officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley.

      Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

      Friends may gather with the family from 1 p.m. until time of the service Saturday at the church.
