Daniel L. Thornton - Charleston Newspapers - (Mar/10/2006)
On March 8, 2006, Jesus called and Daniel L. "Pee Wee" Thornton answered the call and went home to be with the Lord in CAMC General Hospital after a long illness.
Mr. Thornton was retired from Billco Construction and a member of Paradise Church of God Mission.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Myrtle Thornton, and brothers, Georgie F. and Dencil R. Thornton.
He is survived by his loving wife, Ruth Thornton; children, Randy J. and wife, Patricia Thornton, of Poca, Danny L. and wife, Traci Thornton, of Red House, and Gloria W. Thornton and companion, Richard Kessell, of Red House; sister, Nancy E. Craig of Leon; brothers, Carl E. Thornton of Buffalo, and Paul R. Thornton of Cleveland, Ohio; and three grandchildren, Brandon, Rebekah, and Billy.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Gatens-Harding Funeral Home Chapel with Pastors Nyle Fisher Sr. and Nyle Fisher Jr. officiating.
Burial will follow in Haven of Rest Memorial Gardens, Red House.
Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
