COLUMBUS, Ohio - Dencil R. Thornton, 68, of Columbus, Ga., formerly of Bowles Ridge, W.Va., died Thursday, Jan. 15, 2004, after a long illness.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George W. and Myrtle Thornton; and one brother, Georgie F. Thornton.
He is survived by his wife, Hazel Thornton; three stepchildren, Sharon, Jimmy, and Lucretia, and their families, all of Columbus, Ga.; sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Johnny Craig of Bowles Ridge; brother and sister-in-law, Daniel "Pee Wee" and Ruth Thornton of Red House, W.Va.; brother and sister-in-law, Carol E. and Mildred Thornton of Buffalo, W.Va.; brother and sister-in-law, Paul R. and Elaine Thornton of Cleveland, Ohio; and aunt, Mable Edwards of Nitro; several nieces, nephews and lots of loving cousins.
Services will be held in Columbus, Ga. Information was furnished by Gatens Funeral Home, Poca, W.Va.
