To all Who these present shall come....Greetings: KNOW YE,
That in conformity with a survey made on the thirteenth day of April one thousand
eight hundred and fifty four by the virtue of Land Office Treasury Warrant, No 18 bgh there is granted by the said Commonwealth, unto John W. Rhoads
a certain Tract or parcel of Land containing eighty eight acres Jackson County on the Elk Fork of Mill creek and bounded as follows: viz.
Beginning at a hickory corner to Jacob JONES survey and running with a line of the same S 3 1/4: E 38 poles to an ash thence S 30 E. 18 poles to a beech. Thence with a line of Christopher RHOADS S 74 1/2 W 142 1/2 poles to a white oak. Thence N 23 1/2 W 57 poles to a chestnut oak. Thence N 45 E17 poles to a hickory corner to S. C. ARMSTRONG. Thence with a lines of the same N 11 3/? E 50 poles to a birch stump__ Thence 66 1/2 E 132 poles to the beginning with it appurtences
To have and to hold the Tract or Parcel of Land, with its appurtences, to the said John W. RHOADS and his heirs forever.
In witness whereof, the said Joseph Johnson Esquire, Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia, hath hereunto act his hand and caused the Lesser Seal of the said Commonwealth to be affixed at Richmond, on the first day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty five and of the Commonwealth the Seventy-ninth
