Oleta I. Milam
Oleta Irene Milam, 89, of Sissonville, went home to be with the Lord on July 12, 2014, at Riverside Nursing Home.
Born Sept. 4, 1924, in Clendenin, she was the daughter of the late William Oley Litton and Isabel Shafer Litton.
Irene was a member of Humphrey United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women. She enjoyed cooking, cleaning her home and her cats.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Leon "Tom" Milam, and five brothers, Roy Litton, Hysel Litton, Ellet Litton, Ralph Humphrey and Delbert Litton.
Irene is survived by a son, Thomas "Tom" Milam of Sissonville; a daughter, Sandra "Sandy" Hackney and her husband, Dale, of Sissonville; two grandsons, Dale Lee Hackney Jr. and Scott Allen Hackney; six great-grandchildren, Meghan, Brandon, Claudia, Matthew, Isaac and Michael Hackney; and a special friend, Frank LeRose.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 16, at Humphreys United Methodist Church, Sissonville.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 17, at Humphreys United Methodist Church, Sissonville. Interment will immediately follow at Tyler Mountain Memory Garden, Cross Lanes.
