Pat was the 3rd son and 6th child of Adam Dobson (of Scotland) and Margaret Muldoon (of Ireland).
He grew up in McKillop Twp, Ontario where his 4 younger brothers were born. In 1873 the family came to Delaware Twp, Sanilac county, Michigan.
He first married Elizabeth "Bessie" Honeyball, a girl from London, England on 12 Mar 1891 in Franklin Twp, Clare, Michigan.
They had fraternal twins:
Fannie, b.Dec 1891 (died in infancy?)
John C., b.Dec 1891
It is believed a divorce occurred about 1895/96.
He married the widowed Paulina A. (Neubieser) Gruno on 25 April 1898 in Clare county, MI.
She brought her 4 children (from her 1st marriage to Gustav Gruno) into the new Dobson family home.
Pat and Paulina had 4 more children: Mary Marie, Michael, Minnie, and Pauline Dobson.
Patrick had 80 acres (N 1/2 of SW 1/4 of Sec.23) in Hayes Twp., near the east side of Sutherland Lake, which he held from at least 1916 until his death.
