  Notes	Funeral services for James Harlan Skeen, 90 years old, who died Saturday at his home near Kenna, were held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock with Rev. J. C. Fisher in charge and burial was in the Kentuck cemetery. Surviving are nine sons: [Joseph] William, Greeley, Holly and [Charles] Wesley Skeen, all of Charleston; [Archibald] Archie Skeen, of Given, [Joshua Franklin] Frank and [Christopher Columbus] Lum Skeen, of Coal River; Harry and Thomas, of Kenna; and two daughters, Mrs. Verna Wiseman, of Charleston, and Mrs. Anna Kerns, of South Charleston. The 1850 JC census shows Elijah, age 3, l/w George & Jane Fields - his marriage record shows he is the son of Joseph and Polly. So this means he was born about 1847, before Joe married Polly Garrett, but that doesn't mean he isn't their son!
