OBITUARY.
Died on the 16th of January, 1860, in Jackson county, Va., Nancy Elmira, daughter of Mr. John R., and Mrs. Ruth Casto, aged five years and three months. Elmira was a beautiful and interesting little girl, upon whom the love and admiration of parents, relatives, and friends had been bountifully bestowed. But alas! how frail is human life, how fleeting our earthly hopes, how transient our terrestial joys. On yesterday, we were called together at the church to mingle our prayers and tears together in the holy solemnities of her funeral, and then repaired to the grove to conclude the services, and take the last look, the final farewell, the parting kiss at the dark portal of the tomb.
