William Kenna Rector
RAVENSWOOD - William Kenna Rector, 90, of Ravenswood died Dec. 13, 1998, in Ravenswood Village Care Center from injuries received in a fall at home on Oct. 14.
He was a graduate of Ravenswood, had attended Marshall College, was a local merchant, scoutmaster to Boy Scouts Troop 44, a rural mail carrier, a city council member, member of the Ohio River Festival Committee and the Ravenswood Lions Club, Navy veteran of World War II, former commander of the American Legion Post and member and former Sunday School teacher of First United Methodist Church, Ravenswood.
Surviving: daughters, Connie Ritchie of Ravenswood, Nancy Short of Vincent, Ohio; son, Bill Rector of Vienna, Va.; 10 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren.
Service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Roush Funeral Home, Ravenswood, with the Rev. Ronald Brooks officiating. Burial will be in Ravenswood Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Dorothy Rector Scholarship Fund, c/o Wesbanco Bank, 2 Wall St., Ravenswood, WV 26164, or First United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, Flinn Street, Ravenswood, WV 26164.
