Louis David Parsons, 72, prominent farmer of Jackson county and familiar and well-known figure to many Roane countians, died suddenly while sitting in his chair on the front porch of his residence at Ripley shortly after his noon luncheon last Thursday, June 6.
Other than the usual weaknesses of his years he was not known to be suffering from any ailments, and his death was a shock to his many friends in the two counties.
The deceased was a prominent farmer of Washington district before his retirement from the arduous life of the farm, at which time he moved to Ripley. He became identified with civic life of that community, and was especially active in the affairs of the Baptist church.
His married life was a childless one but he is survived by his widow.
