George F. Parsons
George Franklin Parsons, 67, of Ripley, died Wednesday at his residence after a short illness. He was born in Jackson County, a son of the late William and Icy Staats Parsons. He was retired from from the Dupont Plant at Belle. He had attended the Fisher Chapel United Methodist Church and was a veteran of WWII. He is survived by his wife Nancy Parsons; two sons, Lt. Col. Larry Parsons of Hawaii and Mark Parsons of Seth; four daughters, Yvonne Shaffer of Charleston, Dorothy Roudebush of Cross Lanes, Darlene White of Goldtown, Diana Roberts of La Jolla, Calif.; two sisters, Dessie Casto of Fairplain, and Tressie Young of Elkview; six grandchildren. Services were 1 pm Saturday at the Parsons Funeral Home Chapel, Ripley, with the Rev. Jack Parsons officiating. Burial was in the Tyler Mountain Memorial Gardens in Kanawha County.
