Julian Rex 'Woody' Woodrum
MOUNT LOOKOUT Julian Rex 'Woody' Woodrum, 84, died Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2005, at Charleston Area Medical Center Memorial Hospital in Charleston, following a long illness.
Born in 1921, at Kincaid, he was the son of the late John Richard and Florence Winters Woodrum.
Rex served with the Army Air Corp during World War II, was a retired master auto mechanic, and was a member of Lover's Leap Baptist Church of Ansted.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Jimmy Arbaugh and John David Woodrum.
Survivors include his wife, Alma Underwood Woodrum of Mt. Lookout; a daughter, JoAnn Stull of Charleston; two sons, Jerry Woodrum and wife, Vicki, of Ansted and Jeffrey M. Woodrum of Charlotte, N.C.; a sister, Mable McClung of Lookout; a brother, Edgar Woodrum of Chicago, Ill.; and five grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Friday at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Chapel in Ansted, with Pastor Gary Walker officiating, assisted by Jack Eads and Bob Wells. At the family's request, his body has been cremated and entombment will be at a later date at Restlawn.
Friends may call one hour prior to the service (from 12 noon to 1 p.m.) at the funeral home. There will be no evening visitation.
