Evelyn Irene Cobb
Evelyn Irene Cobb, 81, of Kenna, departed this life Thursday, April 15, 2004, at Thomas Memorial Hospital following a short illness.
She was born Sept. 17, 1922, at Jackson County, a daughter of the late Moses Roscoe 'Nick' and Corda Rhodes Coon. She was preceded in death by her sister, Olive Marie Coon; two brothers, Darrell and Joe Coon.
Irene sold Luzier Cosmetics for more than 30 years, and attended Fisher Memorial Church.
Survivors include her husband, Russell Cobb; one daughter, Helen Harper of Charleston; three sons, Charles Cobb of Elkview, Robert Cobb of Sissonville and Ronnie Cobb of Kenna; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren; three sisters, Maxine Braley of Dunbar, Kathleen Coon of Ripley; and Mary Nutter of Evans; two brothers, Charles Coon of Dunbar and Carroll Coon of Ripley.
Funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 18, 2004, at Long & Fisher Funeral Home, Sissonville with the Rev. Rod Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at Floral Hills Garden of Memories, Sissonville.
Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
