He was born April 26, 1929, in Clio, Roane County, and was a son of the late Willie E. and Belva M. Armstead Crihfield. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Preston, and a sister, Hazel Mae. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and was a member of American Legion Post 21, Spencer. He was retired from Pechiney Corporation, Ravenswood, and was a member of the United Steelworkers of America Local 5668. He was a former Boy Scout leader, enjoyed rabbit hunting and gardening, and attended Salt Hill Church. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Maxine D. Paxton Crihfield; sons, Harold E. Crihfield Jr. and Randy L. Crihfield, both of Evans; daughter, Joyce Waskey of Sandyville; brothers, Elton Crihfield of Manassas, Va., Carrol Crihfield of Big Chimney and Lakin Crihfield of Clio; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild; and two stepgrandchildren. Service will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 18, at Casto Funeral Home, Evans, with Gary Hill officiating. Burial will follow in Jackson County Memory Gardens, Cottageville.
