Clifton O. Parsons
Clifton O. Parsons, 78, of Sissonville departed this life Thursday, Oct. 28, 2004, at Hubbard Hospice House following a long illness.
He was born Nov. 13, 1925, in Belgrove, a son of the late Lewis Grant and Esta Rhodes Parsons.
Clifton was a retired glasscutter from Libby-Owens-Ford Glass. After retiring, he was a self-employed general contractor. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served in World War II in the South Pacific.
Survivors include his wife, Nealie Fisher Parsons; one daughter, Marylin Gail Yates and husband, Robert, of Sissonville; one son, James C. Parsons of Raleigh, N.C.; one grandchild whom he raised, Bobby Lee Yates of Sissonville; six additional grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Myrtle Reed of Sissonville, Glady Crank of Middletown, Ohio; and one brother, Okey Parsons of Belgrove.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 31, at Long & Fisher Funeral Home, Sissonville, with Pastor Tim Brewer officiating. Burial will follow with military graveside rites in Floral Hills Garden of Memories, Sissonville.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Kanawha Hospice Care, 1143 Dunbar Ave., Dunbar, WV 25064.
