Obituary (Jackson Herald, Friday, November 14, 1947)
Tennie (Reynolds) Winter was the daughter of the late Mr. And Mrs. F. S. Reynolds. She was born March 21, 1880 and departed this life October 25, 1947, aged 67 years, seven months and four days.
She was united in marriage to Arthur L Winter February 27, 1904, and to this union ten children were born, one son and one daughter have preceded her in death. Those surviving are her husband, five sons, Leon of Charleston, Orville of Akron, Ohio, Frank of Spencer, Warren of Ripley, and Darr of Fairplain; three daughters, Mrs. Aneta Staats and Eleanor Winter of Ripley and Mrs. Lucille Miller of Canton, Ohio. Also 12 grandchildren, Five sisters, Mrs Ernie Strawsbaugh, Mrs. Minnie Robie, Mrs. Dorcas Adams of Bidwell, Ohio, Mrs Mae Sharp of Columbus, Ohio, Mrs Allie Fisher of Sandyville and one brother James Reynolds of Bidwell, Ohio.
She was converted early in life during a revival meeting conducted by Rev. Highland in the Fairplain Church some 40 years ago. No doubt she had many troubles and worries through all these years but she never lost sight of her Redeemer and kept her faith and trust in Him. After her conversion she joined the U.B. church in Fairplain but in later life she moved her membership to the Methodist church as that was nearer her home, she loved to attend church services and did so as long as she was able. Her health began failing a few years ago and gradually her heart weakened and Saturday evening as she was nearing the end she told her loved ones "she was not afraid to die for she was ready to go." and soon the Death Angel called her and her spirit took its flight back to the God who gave it. She was a kind and loving companion, a true an affectionate mother, a good neighbor and friend to all, she will be sadly missed by all who knew her best. The funeral service was conducted by Rev. Vairl Winter in the Ephesus church at Grass Lick and burial was in the cemetery near by. The morticians were Mr. Vail and Mr. Mills of Ripley.
Dear sister, you have left us
We have said our last goodbyes
But we hope some day to meet you
In that Home beyond the skies.
May her love and influence linger
To guide her loved ones on,
And may God's grace sustain them
Safely keep them every one.
May her loved ones ever cherish
The counsel she has given
Be good, live right, while here on earth,
and meet her up in Heaven,
Yes, Jesus says, "Come unto me,
And I will give you rest."
Tennie now is sweetly resting
In the homeland of the Blessed.
O, may we all Christ's word obey
and go to met her some glad day.
—Mrs. Allie Fisher

Silas and Let Casto Reynolds lived off Woods Mill Road, outside Bidwell, Gallia County, Ohio. They moved there from Fairplain, Jackson, WV during World War I.
Loretta died in 1931, Silas in 1936. They left everything to their daughter Ernie. She kept the big farm (over 100 acres) and gave the other farm (86 acres ) to her brothers & sisters: Minnie, Allie, Dorcas & Crayton. John & Minnie Robie and Jim & Allie Fisher bought out Dorcas and Crayton. Everett & Erma Robie bought out Fishers in Jan 1938 and moved in. In Oct 1939, John and Minnie Robie moved.
Ernie's daughter owned half interest in the big farm. John Robie traded his farm in West Virginia for her interest in the farm at Bidwell, and wanted to live in the big house and Ernie to move out into the little house but Ernie was not agreeable to the idea. So John bought her out for $1,000. Ernie and Bill moved out on Rt 554.
