Is Edward son of John? When he married Pheobe, he was listed as a widower.
from Jan Johnson jjohnson18@carolina.rr.com :
Henry and Mary OLIVER Larkins moved from Beaver County PA to East Liverpool, Columbiana County OH. Henry M. Larkins, youngest child born c. 1840), was the only one born in OH, all the others were born in PA. Henry Larkins and family are in Liverpool Township, Columbiana County OH per the 1850 Census. Children are Edward, Curtis, James, Elizabeth, John B., Lavina Jane and Henry M. Edward, Curtis and James and John were all engaged in the pottery business in East Liverpool for a number of years, together and separately. Elizabeth married into the Sebring family and it was her sons who founded Sebring OH and later Sebring FL, the Sebrings being another pottery family. Jane married into the McKinnon family, early pioneers of East Liverpool - but not potters. Henry owned and operated a grocery/retail store in East Liverpool before retiring to Sebring, Mahoning County OH.
My assumption is that the Joseph Larkins listed is either Joseph [Edward] Larkins or [Edward] Joseph Larkins, Edward being the name listed in the 1850 census of the oldest Larkins son. Mary Oliver Larkins was living in the household of Joseph Larkins in 1880 in East Liverpool, and the age is correct to match back to the 1850 Edward.
