Lula Myrtle Miller, 92, of Ravenswood, WV, departed this life on December 25, 2003, at Marietta Memorial Hospital in Marietta, Ohio.
She was born on May 7, 1911, in Jackson County, WV, daughter of the late Ira L. Litton and Leora Staats Litton.
She was a wife and mother, and was known by all for her gentleness and love of flowers and children, which she shared for much of her life as a teacher and member of the Church of the Nazarene in Ravenswood.
Surviving are her daughters, Jo Ellen Nicholson, Ripley, WV, and Mrs. Stanley (Debra) Smith, Columbus, Ohio; brother, Folie D. Litton, Ravenswood, WV; 10 grandchildren, Gregory Miller, Ravenswood; James Smith, Columbus, Ohio; Jason Smith, Columbus, Ohio; Sarah Smith, Columbus, Ohio; Mrs. Raymond (Kathleen Brown) Schallom, Ripley; Teena Brown Robinson, Gaston, SC; Kimberly Bush Blake, Charleston, WV; Mrs. Greg (Rebecca Bush) Gibbs, Winfield, WV; Mrs. James (Mariana Bush) McHugh, Mt. Alto, WV; and Mrs. Brian (Melanie Bush) Perkey, Ripley, WV; 16 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Mrs. Bob (Wilma Casto) Miller. Preceded in death by her husband, James P. Miller; son, Charles Robert (Bob) Miller, and daughter, Mrs. Raymond (Helen Jean) Bush; sister, Mrs. Carl (Clairfay Dudgen) Bradley; brothers, Flavy F. Litton and Flayo A. Litton.
Services were held on Sunday, December 28, 2003, at 2:00 p.m. at Roush Funeral Home, Ravenswood, WV, with Reverend Scott Mapes officiating. Burial followed in Blaine Memorial Cemetery, Cottageville, WV. Friends visited the funeral home on Saturday, December 27, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.
