  Notes	Obituary Feb 19, 1945 (penciled in) Claud Crayton Reynolds, son of Silas and Loretta Reynolds, was born April 19, 1891, at Fairplain, where he spent his youth, before going to Ohio. He enlisted in the service of his country in World War I and was one of the heroes of the Argonne Forrest. Having experienced first-line warfare, he suffered privations and hardships and narrowly escaped death; but on May 19, 1919, he was honorably discharged and returned to his homeland to live happily until tragedy brought his life to a close. On December 31, 1923, he was united in marriage with Miss Nola Quickle and to this union was born one daughter Delcie - now Mrs. Margaret McClaskey, whose husband is serving overseas in World War II. Besides the bereaved family, he leaves six sisters and one brother; Allie Fisher of Ravenswood; Tennie Winters of Charleston, Dorcas Adams, Minnie Robie, Ernie Strawsbaugh and Jim Reynolds of Bidwell, Ohio and Mae Sharpe of Columbus, Ohio. As a citizen of the community in which he has spent upon returning from war, he was known as an upright, honorable, good man, and many acts of kindness will be remembered by all who knew him. He was devoted to his home and family and they were always first in his thoughts. By those who were assisting in rescuing him from the wreck, he was heard to say, "But I have a family", meaning he wished to be taken home to them. Realizing clearly that death was near, he was heard while praying to say "I am going to meet my Savior." He was a man of deeds, not words, he was one of whom Christ said"By their works shall ye be known." "For not everyone that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter the Kingdom of Heaven, but he that doeth the will of my Father, who is in Heaven." In kindness toward others, in thoughts of others, and in service for others, he has fulfilled the admonitions of the Christian Life and is now with the blessed of the Lord, where there is no more sorrow -- the Home Eternal prepared for those who serve the Lord. I hope to see my Pilot face to face When I have crossed the bar. They moved there from Fairplain, Jackson, WV during World War I. Loretta died in 1931, Silas in 1936. They left everything to their daughter Ernie. She kept the big farm (over 100 acres) and gave the other farm (86 acres ) to her brothers & sisters: Minnie, Allie, Dorcas & Crayton. John & Minnie Robie and Jim & Allie Fisher bought out Dorcas and Crayton. Everett & Erma Robie bought out Fishers in Jan 1938 and moved in. In Oct 1939, John and Minnie Robie moved. Ernie's daughter owned half interest in the big farm. John Robie traded his farm in West Virginia for her interest in the farm at Bidwell, and wanted to live in the big house and Ernie to move out into the little house but Ernie was not agreeable to the idea. So John bought her out for $1,000. Ernie and Bill moved out on Rt 554.
