  Notes	Noel D. Casto Ripley - Noel Douglas Casto 90 of Ripley, departed this life Thursday, January 24, 2008 at his home following an extended illness. He was born November 13, 1917 at Belgrove, son of the late Oscar Owens and Leota Fields Casto. He was a retired machinist from Kaiser Aluminum where he worked as a tool and die maker. He had attended Morris Harvey College and was a former vocational teacher in Logan and Summers Counties. He was a former employee of General Electric and worked for General Machinery during WW II. He was FCC licensee and enjoyed ham radio, was a pilot and a member of the United Steelworker Union Local 5668, attended Parchment Valley Baptist Church, Ripley and enjoyed reading and studying scriptures. Survivors include his wife of 68 years Ruth B. Pursley Casto; son Doug Casto of Ripley; daughter Verona Sampson and husband Christopher of Kenna; brothers William A. Casto or Ormond Beach FL. and Denvil G. Casto of Mount Jackson VA; grandchildren Andrea J. White and husband Ben of Huntersville NC and Major Jason E. Jones and wife Laura stationed at Fort Lewis WA and Wendy Jones of Ripley; great-grand children Jessica Jones, Kaylee Jones, Jacob Jones, Tyler White and Nathan White. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter Sharon, brothers Waldie, Dell, Oscar Jr., Doyle and sisters Beatrice Casto and Virginia King. Services were held Sunday January 27, 2008 at Casto Funeral Home, Evans with Rev. Herman Robinson officiating. Burial followed at Fairplain Cemetery near Ripley.
