William R. Rhodes
William Romma Rhodes, 73, of Buffalo died August 11, 2002, in Putnam General Hospital after a long illness.
He was born May 12, 1929 in Charleston, a son of the late William Brady Rhodes and Belva Rhodes Wade. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Dennis Rhodes.
He was an Air Force veteran and was retired from Tri-State Home Center. He was a Christian and attended Buffalo Church of the Nazarene.
Surviving: wife, Doris E. Rhodes; sons and daughters-in-law, William Jeffery and Debbie Rhodes of Gallipolis, Ohio, William Brady and Amy Rhodes of Hurricane; stepdaughrer, Cherie Elaine Forbes of Indianapolis; stepsons, Timothy David Miller of Buffalo and Matthew Lee and wife, Selene, Miller of Scott Depot; sisters, Freda Wilkinson and Mabel Angell, both of Charleston, Wanda and husband, Berman Wilkinson of Forest, Virginia; sister-in-law, Joann Rhodes of Pocatalico; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Charles and Joan Hanes of Columbus, Ohio; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
Service was held Wednesday, August 14, 2002, at Chapman Funeral Home, Teays Valley, with the Rev. Sidney Warner and the Rev. Jimmie McKnight officiating. Burial was in McCown Cemetery, Cross Lanes. The family suggests memorial donations be made to Buffalo Church of the Nazarene, Building Fund, Buffalo WV 25033.
