Wanda Lee Rhodes Wilkinson, 79, of Charleston went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 28, 2012, at 12:30am at Thomas Memorial Hospital in South Charleston after a long illness.
She was born December 29, 1932, and was preceded in death by her mother, Belva Mae Whited Rhodes Wade; her father, William Brady Rhodes; her sister, Freda Alice Wilkinson; and her brothers, Dennis and Rom Rhodes. She was survived by her husband of 62 years, Berman Earl Wilkinson; her daughter, Dina Gail Crowder and husband, David Crowder; and her "special niece," Wendy Michelle Doig and her husband, Michael Doig.
She is also survived by her sister, Mable Marie Young; her loving sisters-in-law, Doris Rhodes, Nina Miller, Maxine Lail, Ruth Truman and Lois Whaley; and her grandchildren, Brian Crowder and wife Emily Crowder, Sarah Crowder Snow and Michael Crowder. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Abby and Jackson Snow, and Oliver Crowder; and her "special" grandchildren, Kaylee and Cody Doig.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to North Charleston Baptist Church, 1009 Woodward Lane, Charleston, W.Va., 25387. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, January 30, at Tyler Mountain Funeral Home, Cross Lanes, with the Rev. Harold White officiating.
