Wilford D. Doughty
Wilford D. Doughty, 87, of Cross Lanes, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014, at Cabell Huntington Hospital. He was born in Belgrove, a son of the late Alonzo and Lilly Mae Taylor Doughty.
Wilford was employed by True Temper Manufacturing and a member of Nitro Church of God. Wilford loved gardening and woodworking.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Vernie Byrd Doughty; daughters, Sally (Jim) Baker of Pennsylvania, Debbie (Bob) Pegg of Gallipolis, Ohio, Azalea Boehm of Texas and Wilma (David) Garbett of Charleston; son, Aaron (Joyce) Doughty of Henderson, N.C.; 12 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by daughter, Amy G. Anderson.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 8, at Tyler Mountain Funeral Home, 5233 Rocky Fork Road, Cross Lanes, with the Rev. Rob Van Fossen officiating. Burial will follow in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens.
Friends will be received at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m.
