Mrs. Metta R. Harper, 74, of Walton, died Saturday in Roane General Hospital after a long illness. She was born in Ryan, Roane County a daughter of the late Sherman & Osha Hunt. She was a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church and a lifelong resident of Roane County.
Surviving: husband, Lakin; one son, Garry W. of Walton, one grandson, Cody Harper of Walton; two brothers, Esten R. Hunt and Harold E. Hunt both of Walton. She was preceded in death by one brother, Ferris Hunt.
Service was held 1 pm Tuesday at Sinnett Funeral Home, Spencer with the Rev. Otho West officiating. Burial was in Mt. Moriah Cemetery, Walton.
