Doyle F. "Joe" Raines, 70, of Kenna passed away Monday, March 28, 2005, at Jackson General Hospital, Ripley.
He was born Jan. 20, 1935, in Jackson County, a son of the late Boyd and Hallie Ashby Raines.
He was a carpenter and was retired from Cedar Lakes Conference Center. He was a member of Plainview Baptist Church.
He is survived by two sons, Dana (Rhonda) Raines of Kenna and Jeff (Valarie) Raines of Sissonville; daughter, Darlena (John "Pee Wee") White of Kenna; brothers, Daris Raines of Fairplain, Roy Raines of Liverpool, Doy "Dick" Raines of Cottageville and Keith Raines of Kenna; sisters, Macie Click of Portland, Ohio, Geraldine Anderson of Kenna, Wanda McClain of Nashville, Tenn., and Janet Cogar of Kenna; and grandchildren, Misty, Julie, Gretchen, Brandon "Joey" and Jessica Raines, Jonathan and Tyler White and Charity and Medalyen Parsons.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie Rhodes Raines; and sisters, Hazel Rhodes and Faye Rowley.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday, March 31, at Plainview Baptist Church, Kenna, with Pastor Gene Angel officiating. Burial will be in the Raines family cemetery, Kenna.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Parsons-Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley, and one hour prior to service at the church.
