He was retired from Yeardley Engineering in Charleston, and was a machinist and tool and die maker by trade. Upon his retirement, he and his wife traveled extensively throughout the continental U.S., having visited every state. The southwest was by far his favorite destination, having traveled there seven times. They also traveled to Mexico and Canada. His favorite pastime in retirement was designing beautifully handcrafted quilts for his family. These quilts will be forever treasured by his family as lasting memories of his love. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Margaret Litton; and son, Jim Litton. In addition to his wife, Mary, he is survived by his daughters, Connie (Tim) Medley of Charleston and Cathy (Bill) Oscanyan of Charleston; sister, Dorothy Hatcher (Rev. Joe Hatcher) of Parkersburg; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; beloved dog, Spotty; and a host of other family and friends. Service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Good Shepherd Mortuary, South Charleston with Dr. David E. Mitchell officiating. Burial will be in Elk Hills Memorial Park, Big Chimney. Friends may call two hours prior to the service at the mortuary. The family would like to send special thanks to his physicians and nursing staff at CAMC Memorial Division, and the staff at Hubbard Hospice for their tender loving care and kindness and compassion given to Bud and his family during his illness.
