Born in Belgrove, W.Va., she had been an area resident since 1953, coming from West Virginia. Mrs. Skeen was employed as a drill press operator for General Plug, Grafton, for 25 years, retiring in 1992. She attended Penfield Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening, quilting and spending time with her grandchildren. Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Paul S. Skeen; a son, Ron West of LaGrange; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sisters Gertha Walker of Gandyville, W.Va., Gertrude Hopkins of Spencer, W.Va., Eurada Skeen of Ripley, W.Va., and Veneda Hoover of Harrisville, W.Va.; and brothers, Arthur Westfall of Ripley and Glenn Westfall of Somerset, Ky. She was preceded in death by a son, Steven Skeen in 2005; a sister, Myrtle Cummings; and her parents, Amos B. and Edith (nee Stalnaker) Westfall. Friends may call 5 to 8 pm. Thursday at Bauer-Laubenthal Funeral Home, 38475 Chestnut Ridge Road at state Route 57, Elyria. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. The Rev. Robert Schroyer will officiate. Burial will follow in River Road Cemetery, LaGrange Township.
