Jones, 81, of 208 Alethea St. died Saturday night at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Dovie Haynes at 1337 Virginia St, E, after a long illness. He was a retired Roane County farmer and spent most of his life near Walton. Also surviving are his widow, Mrs. Leona Jones; three sons, Sherman Jones of Lundale, Hoyt of St. Albans, and Otmer Jones of Charleston; two other daughters, Mrs. Alma Stanley and Miss Addie Jones, both of Charleston; three brothers, Norvill of Walton, Lewis of Clendenin and Sheridan of Sissonville; a sister Mrs. Joda Harper of Elkview; 17 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Mr. Jones was a member of the Wesley Methodist Church in Charleston. Funeral services will be held Tuesday 1pm in Cunningham mortuary chapel with the Rev. B. Elmo Kelley officiating. Burial will be in the Hunt Cemetery in Roane County.The body will remain at the mortuary.
