From the 9/13/1961 Charleston Gazette:
Jones, Lewis W.--Service for Mr. Jones, 83, of Walton, Roane County, who died Monday, will be conducted at 2 pm today in Fairview Baptist Church on Gabe Creek by Rev. Early Abbott. Burial will be in Jones Cemetery on Green Creek. The body is at Moore and Knight Funeral Home in Clendenin. Mr. Jones died in Staats Hospital after a short illness. He was a retired farmer.
Surviving are his wife, Delila; two sons, Stark of Walton and Ray (Pete) Jones of Clendenin; three daughters, Miss Gladys Jones of Clendenin, Mrs. Della Carpenter of Charleston and Mrs. Delma Paxton of Kettle; a brother, Sheridan Jones of Walton; a sister, Mrs. Jodie Harper of Indiana; 34 grandchildren and 43 great-grandchildren.
