    • Rev. Kenna Jackson Parsons Jr.
      The Rev. Kenna 'Jack' Jackson Parsons Jr., 85, of Charleston, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, Feb. 6, 2006. He was surrounded by his loving family and friends.
      He was born March 23, 1920, in Putney, son of the late Rev. Kenna 'Jack'
      Jackson Parsons Sr. and Grace Hysell Parsons. He is preceded in death by his loving bride of 56 years, Olive G. Keffer Parsons and sisters, Doris Parsons Douglas and Zelma Parsons.
      He is survived by his loving son, Kenna J. Parsons III and his wife, Ruth; granddaughter, Tammy L. Perkins; and great-grandchildren, Victoria Lynn Pritt and Caleb Gene Pritt.
      He began working at the DuPont Plant in Belle. During World War II, he volunteered and was assigned to the Army Air Corp serving as a Norton Bomb Sight Mechanic stationed in New Mexico and Arizona. After the war ended, he returned to DuPont finishing his civilian employment with a total of 41 years as an electrician.
      He was called to the Methodist Ministry in 1954. He was a Pastor for 47 years. He served at Bias Chapel in Pocatalico, Mt. Tabor United Methodist in Pinch, Fisher's Chapel United Methodist in Sissonville, Baber-Agee Methodist in Rocky Fork, and Fairview United Methodist in Tyler Mountain. He was most recently a member of Christ Church United Methodist Church, Charleston.
      Service will be 11 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 9, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with the Rev. 'Bill' Holtsclaw officiating. Entombment will follow in Floral Hills Garden of Memories, Sissonville, with Military rites provided by the West Virginia Air National Guard.
      Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8, at Keller Funeral

      A very special thanks to Cindy Cobb and Staff at Country Villa Care in Buffalo for their compassionate and loving care. Additional thanks to the staff in the ER of Thomas Memorial Hospital and on the 2nd and 3rd floor for his acute care. Also including Hospice for making arrangements with the hospital for his end of life comfort and care. Thanks to the West Virginia Air National Guard for recognizing his service to his country.
