Viola, I only knew her as a tender-hearted woman. My earliest recollection of her was when I was maybe six to eight years old. I was born in 1961.... I don't have her date of birth in front of me but I'm thinking that she must have been around 90 even then. She always had cookies for us kids and was a quiet and unassuming woman. She always had someting in her lap..... and I want to say it was usually knitting.... she had beautiful doilies all over the house. Mom and Dad always made us kids go outside because they wanted a quiet visit without us kids jumping around. Sometimes I would sneak into the kitchen where the men were and listen to them talk about the Bible. My dad would always ask Great Grandpa to show him where some obscure verse was and he would flip right to it and tell Dad what it meant to him and where else in the Bible you could find references to the same subject.
