Wilfred M. "Frosty" Whited, 96, of Walton, died Wednesday, January 16,
1991, in CAMC, after a short illness.
He was born in Roane County, a son of the late Isaac and Minnie Noel
Whited. He was a lumberman and construction worker, a heavy equipment
operator in strip mining, and a veteran of World War I. He attended
Walton Union Church and was director emeritus of Poca Valley Bank,
Walton.
He is survived by his wife, Docie Whited; one daughter, Marlene Jones
of Walton; one stepdaughter, Lois Wright of Lawrenceville, Ga.; three
sisters, Alcie Boggs of Batavia, Ohio, Ruby Shaver of Walton and
Azelene Pauley of Baltimore, Md.; three grandchildren; four great-
grandchildren and one stepgrandson.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Oleta Jones Whited, in
1943; two brothers, Ibis "Joe" and Mayford I.; three sisters, Goldie
Lynch, Edna Marks and Ival Whited.
Services were held Saturday at Walton Union Church, with Rev. Robert
Milliren officiating. Burial was in the Looney Cemetery, near Walton.
Vandale Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
