Eunice Kelly Rhodes
Eunice Kelly Rhodes, 98, of Ripley, passed away Thursday, February 14, 2008, at Jackson General Hospital following an extended illness.
She was born March 9, 1909, in Jackson County, daughter of the late Archibald and Mina Westfall Kelly. She was a homemaker and a member of the Ripley Baptist Temple.
Surviving are son, Carroll Rhodes of Washington; daughters, Sandy Lawrentz of Ripley, Joan Halbert of Parkersburg and Janet King of Ocala, Fla.; brother, Burnice Kelly of Ripley; 16 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Jaerl Rhodes; two daughters, Norma and Nola Rhodes; two brothers, Archie and Waldo Kelly of Ripley; two sisters, Gladys Harner of Michigan and Florence Thomas of Ripley. Two sisters-in-law, JoAnn Rhodes and Frances Rhodes, also preceded her in death.
The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, February 18, at Ripley Baptist Temple, Ripley, with the Rev. Rick Perrine officiating. Interment will follow at Aplin Cemetery on Aplin Ridge near Gay.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Parsons-Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley, and for one hour prior to the service Monday at the Ripley Baptist Temple.
