      In the Name of God Amen
      I Stephen Booth of Stratford in Fairfield County and Colony of Connecticut in New England being in a weak declining state of body but of sound mind and memory for which I would pay my thankfull acknowledgements to Ye God of the Spirits of all Flesh, calling to mind my mortality and not knowing the day of my demise do make and ordain this to be in Last Will and Testament; first of all I give and bequeath my precious and immortal soul into ye hands of God that made it chearfully trusting in the mercy of God in Jesus Christ for the Salvation thereof and my body I reccommend to the Earth to be decently buried at the durction of my Exicutrix hereafter named hopeing for its glorious resurrection at the Last great Day through Christ that is the first begotten of the Dead and and as touching that world by estate with which it has pleased God to bless me I give and dispose of in manner following viz:
      Imprimis My will is that all my just debts and funeral charges shall be first paid and satisfyed.
      Item: all the rest and residue of m estate both real and personal whether in possession or in Roversion(?) or remainder I will give and bequeath to my well beloved wife Esther and to her heirs and assigns forever.
      Finally I do hereby ordain constitute and appointe her my said wife to be sole executrix of this my last will ratifying and confirming this and no other to my last will and testament in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 19th day of Septem'r AD 1769

      Personally appreared Sam'l Odell Seth gregory and Hezekiah Tredwell subscribing witnesses to ye [^within] Will and on oath declared they saw stephen Booth within named Testator sign and seal ye same and heard him publish and declar it to be his Last Will and Testament and [?] they set to their hands as witnesses in ye presence of ye testator and of each other & that they judged him to be of sound disposing mind and memory -- and will being proved in by and court approved and ordered to be recorded
