Ripley - MRS. VERNA LEE MANGUS, 56, of Ripley, died Sunday in Jackson General Hospital after a short illness.
Surviving: sons, Earl of Kenna, James of Kentuck; daughters, Mrs. Virginia Ann Fisher and Mrs. Janet Casto, both of Staats Mill; sisters, Mrs. Kenna Shields [Wavie] and Mrs. Ollie Harris, both of Ripley, Mrs. Erma Casto of Kentuck, Mrs. Veda Smith and Mrs. Esta Parsons, both of Charleston; brothers, Richard and Roscoe Parsons, both of Kenna, Cleo Parsons of Harmony, Winford of Charleston; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
Service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday in Parsons Funeral Home, Ripley, with the Rev. Buck Burdette officiating. Burial will be in Fairplane Cemetery. Friends may call today at the funeral home.
