Ripley - Pauline Matheny 84, of Ripley departed this life on Friday, March 21, 2008. She was born April 14, 1923, a daughter of the late Joda and Opal Morris Parsons, She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother, She was loved very much by her friends and family.
She is survived by one son, Greg Matheny and his wife, Jeanie, of Michigan; one daughter, Judy Matheny Damron of Gay; two brothers, Edison Parsons and his wife June of Ohio and William Parsons of Ripley; one sister Jackie Parsons Brown of North Carolina; seven grandchildren, Geaff Mann of North Carolina, Craig Mann of North Carolina, Michelle Triplett Bowman of Virginia, Scott Matheny of Florida, Lisa Mann Perdue of Beckley and Tina Matheny of Ripley; ten great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Bernard Lacoe Matheny; a daughter, Suzanne Matheny Mann and a sister, Phyllis Parsons Carano.
The family would like to thank Kanawha Hospice and in-home care givers Linda Berry, Joanne Blinn, Vonnie Harper and Sharon Spurlock for the dedication and all of the loving care they provided.
The service will be on Wednesday, March 26 at 2 pm at Vail Funeral Home, Ripley with the Rev. John Gunther officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Hills Cemetery, Ripley. Friends may call from 6-8pm this evening (Tuesday March 25) at the funeral home.
