  Notes	Margaret Jane (BENSON) NELSON        Mrs. Margaret Jane (BENSON) NELSON, the daughter of Hampton and Martha BENSON, was born May 29, 1867 and departed this life on November 2., 1942, aged 75 years, 5 months and 28 days. She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband, James L. NELSON; one daughter by a former marriage, Mrs. Laura HENDERSHOT, of Ravenswood; one daughter, Mrs. Nellie May BYERS, preceded her in death; six step-children, namely; Nina NELSON, of Geff, Ill.; Clarence, of Gay; Charles, of Clinton, Ohio; Enos, of Cheshire, Ohio, and Homer and John, of Sandyville, WV.        Four grandchildren, four great grandchildren and ten step grandchildren are living. She is also survived by two brothers and four sisters, namely; Thomas and Irvin, of Ravenswood; Lola GOLDEN, of Liverpool; Laura RECTOR, of Ravenswood; Anna GOLDEN, and Rosa KERNS, of Sandyville; William, Joseph and Cassie, preceded her in death. The funeral services were conducted at the Sand Creek Baptist church by Rev. W. N. FOWLER, with burial there at one p.m. Sunday. (Jackson Herald, Fri., 18 Dec 1942)
