Samuel “Junior” Anderson, 80 of Charleston passed away on Sunday, March 22, 2009, in Heartland Nursing Home, Charleston.
He was the son of the late Samuel and Mary Rhoades Anderson.
Junior retired from United Dairy (Valley Bell) after 42 years of service as a transport driver. He attended Mountain Mission, Charleston, and was a past member of Maple Hill Baptist Church.
He was a wonderful father, grandfather and great-grandfather and will be dearly missed by all.
Also preceding him in death, besides his parents, was his wife, Betty, who passed in November 2008.
He is survived by his children, Larry “Ronnie” Anderson of Charleston, Steve Anderson of St. Albans, Jerry Anderson of Stanley, North Carolina, Jack and Randy Anderson, both of Charleston, and Sandra Humphreys of Dunbar; 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, March 25, at Barlow-Bonsall Funeral Home.
Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, March 26, in in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes, with the Rev. Fairley McCormick officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations to be made to HospiceCare, 1606 Kanawha Blvd. W., Charleston, WV 25312.
