Geneva Evelyn Mullenix Shockey, 89, of Ravenswood, W.Va., passed away Aug. 29, 2008, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital in Parkersburg.
She was born Sept. 2, 1918, in Big Run, Jackson County, W.Va., a daughter of the late Guy Edward and Bessie Sayre Mullenix. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by three children, Sharon Butler and her husband, Jim, of Ravenswood, Steven Shockey and his wife, Vanessa, of Ripley and Sheila McDonald and her husband, Dennis, of Land O' Lakes, Fla.; grandchildren, Anita Prunty and her husband, Frank, Jeff Butler, Donald Butler and his wife, Regina, Kimberly Bell and her husband, Rich, Tracie Edwards and her husband, Robert, Steven Shockey II and Stephanie Burge and her husband, David; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a brother, Guy Edward Mullenix Jr. of Sturgis, S.D.; and sister, Gertrude Lehew of Portland, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Guy and Bessie Mullenix; husband, H. Lester Shockey; and sister, Grace E. Young.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Roush Funeral Home, Ravenswood, with the Rev. Karen Maxson officiating. Burial will be in Ravenswood Cemetery. Friends may visit the family from 2-6 p.m. Sunday and one hour prior to the service Monday at the funeral home.
