Clovea Ash, 69, of Spencer died May 26, 2009, in CAMC General Hospital, Charleston.
Born May 6, 1940, in Roane County, she was a daughter of the late Raymond and Monnie Rhodes Waggoner. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Kate, Hazel, Edna and Eloise; and a brother, Kenneth.
She was retired from Kellwood Company, Spencer, with 25 years of service and enjoyed country music and dancing.
She is survived by her husband, Lawrence Ash; two daughters and their husbands, Kim and Alan Starcher of Spencer and Sheila “Dink” and Bobby Elias of Point Pleasant; one son and his wife, Randy and Robin Ash of Reedy; five sisters, Anna Faye Atkinson, Connie McGrew, Dorothy Waggoner and Roberta Ash, all of Spencer, and Elma Blair of Barberton, Ohio; one brother, Earl Waggoner of Xenia, Ohio; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Per her request, the body was cremated. Burial of the ashes will take place at a later date in Clover Cemetery, near Spencer.
The Ash family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 1, at Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home, Spencer.
