He was born Jan. 23, 1925, in Jackson County, a son of the late Dan and Nettie Casto Parsons. He was retired from Kardex and was a school bus driver and greeter at the Ripley Wal-Mart. He was a member of Allens Fork Community Church, Goldtown, and an Army veteran of World War II where he served in the Berlin Crisis. He is survived by his wife, Virginia Frances Parsons of Fairplain; son and his wife, Bob and Linda Parsons of Fairplain; sisters, Naomi Tolley and Leona Parsons, both of Dunbar, Mae Huffman of Cross Lanes; two grandsons and their wives, Tim and Cindy Parsons and Rick and Tammy Parsons; and five grandchildren, Kayla, Jacob, Tiara, Regan and Destin Parsons. He will be sadly missed by his family and all that knew him. Service will be 1 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 28, at Allens Fork Community Church, Goldtown, with Pastor Al Mendez and Pastor Greg Estep officiating. Burial will be in Fairplain Cemetery, Ripley. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Allens Fork Community Church. Memorials may be made to Hubbard Hospice House, 1001 Kennawa Drive, Charleston, WV 25311.
