Informant: Henry Hunt, Jr Hunt, Howard Henry Howard Henry Hunt, 48, of Evans, died unexpectedly of a heart attack at Winona, WV last Tuesday, where he had been employed as a shovel operator for some time. The body was brought to the Vail Mortuary in Ripley on Tuesday afternoon and prepared for burial. The funeral service was held at the Otterbein Church at Evans on Thursday afternoon with the Rev. Arthur Layman in charge and burial was in the Otterbein Cemetery. Mr. Hunt was a son of the late H. A. and Amanda Hunt, pioneer residents of Evans, and was born there on Nov. 14, 1899. He was a member of the Long View Methodist Church.        Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Anna L. Hunt; five children, Howard of Evans, Charles Golden Hunt of Winona, Henry Hunt also of Winona, Mrs. Juanita Vance of Columbus, and Mrs. Kathleen Barber of Ripley. A sister Mrs. Isa Sayre of Evans is also among the survivors. (Friday, 9 Jan 1948). Henry Howard Hunt, son of Henry and Amanda, was born at Evans, November 11, 1899, died at the age of 48 years, one month and 18 days. He was united in marriage to Anise Lorene Casto on March 15, 1918. To this union was born seven children: Mrs. Juanita Vance of Columbus, Ohio; Howard Jr., Charles and Henry, all of Winona,WV., and Mrs. Kathleen Barber of Ripley. His sons Marvin Lee and Claude Laverne, also his mother, father and one sister, Ivy, preceded him in death. One sister, surviving, Mrs. Owens Sayre of Evans. Mr. Hunt died at Winona. He was employed by Wilson and Ingram Construction Company for several years (The Jackson Herald, Ripley, WV, Friday, 23 Jan 1948)
