Lucille Fields Cantley, 85, of Comfort went home to be with the Lord on Friday, July 10, 2009, at the Hubbard House, Charleston, after a long illness.
She was born September 30, 1923, at Roane County, a daughter of the late Thomas and Ida Jane Kiser Fields. She was a member of Sylvester Baptist Church, Sylvester.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Cantley Jr.; a daughter, Paula Kay Cantley; a son, Hubert Cantley III; and a son-in-law, Johnny Mitchell; five sisters; and two brothers.
She is survived by three daughters, Debbie Mitchell of Virginia Beach, Va., Sharon Foster and husband Ricky of Fosterville, and Brenda Keeney and husband Bobby of Bloomingrose; a son, Kevin Cantley of Comfort; a sister, Mabel Taylor of Elizabeth; a brother, Thomas Fields and wife Sue of Brimfield, Ohio; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, July 13, 2009, at Sylvester Baptist Church, Sylvester, with Pastor David Minturn officiating. Interment will be at Cantley Cemetery, Rock Creek.
Visitation will be held two hours before the service at the church.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Mary, Sally, Marilyn and Ronnie Malowskey.
