  Notes	The Charleston Gazette August 31, 2008 Violet Ruth Schoolcraft, 87, of Walton died Aug. 30, 2008, in Roane General Hospital, Spencer. Born Aug. 2, 1921, at Vicars, Roane County, she was a daughter of the late George Washington and Bertha Gandee Jones. She was a homemaker. She is survived by two daughters, Norma Gay Miller of Spencer and Marie Hunt of Leroy; one sister, Mabel Hatcher of Ripley; two granddaughters, Kimberly Thompson and Patricia Starcher; one grandson, Jesse Hunt; four great-grandchildren, Travis Thompson, Erika Bragg, Alysia Thompson and Trenton Madison Lanier; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ira M. Schoolcraft; a brother, Orville Jones; and two sisters, Roxie Scarbrough and Mae Jones. Service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 3, at Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home, Spencer, with the Rev. Charles Davis officiating. Burial will be in Rocky Branch Cemetery, near Walton. Visiting hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home
