Hosea J. Shinn, 81, of Cottageville, died at the Jackson General Hospital, Ripley, on Saturday, July 11, 1970.
Born April 8, 1889, in Cottageville, he was a son of the late George and Nancy Smith Shinn and was a retired farmer and stockman. He was a member of the Cow Run Church of God.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy Sayre Shinn; five daughters, Mrs. Olive Campbell of Huntington, Mrs. Gladys McIntyre of Ripley, Mrs. Clara Blanche Yentzer of Sycamore, Ohio, Mrs. Naomi Sayre of Evans, and Mrs. Margaret Hill of Kenova; five sons, Roy of Cottageville, Woodrow of McCutcheonville, Ohio, Arnold of Bluffton, Ohio, Daniel of Nitro, and Darrell, of Tiffin, Ohio. One son, Clark Lee, preceded him in death.
Burial was in the Creston Cemetery. [abstract from unknown newspaper]
