Johannes Westfall was the son of the immigrant ancestor, Juriaen Westfall and Marretje Hansen, dau of Hans Jansen and Reymerick ---?---. Juriaen's birthdate is not certain...there are many variations out there. He came to America in 1642 from Luyderdorp, Holland to be a tenant farmer for the patroon Van Rensselaer, and settled in Esopus, NY on the Hudson River. He married Marretje Hansen c1650. He died c 1667. There is a lot of good and bad info out there on the internet, so I wouldn't take anything as gospel until you have some proof of the facts, which is hard to get for these really early generations.
A lot of the info on the dates of baptism and marriages were from the book, Registers of the Dutch Church of Kingston, New York, 1660-1809, by Roswell R. Hoes, of which I have a copy. I also got a lot of info from a Westfall genealogy published in the New York Genealogical and Biographical Record.
