Glenna Catherine Fields
Glenna Catherine Rhodes Fields, 73, of Elkview went to be with the Lord on September 24, 2009, at home after a long illness.
She was born January 15, 1936, in Kanawha County, to the late Elmer Dayton and Ethel Margaret Hayes Rhodes.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Oran (Shorty) Fields; son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Susie Quinn; and brothers, Jack, David and Austin Rhodes.
She was a caregiver for the elderly and a member of Ed's Fork Community Church.
Glenna was a loving mother, grandmother and aunt.
She is survived by her loving family; daughters, Joyce Rhodes Siders (Skeeter Chandler), Margo Fields(Greg Hodges), both of Elkview, grandchildren, whom she raised, Scott Quinn of Clendenin and Joey Quinn of Charleston, sisters, Shirley (Junior) Weese of Grayson, KY, and Charlotte (Tom) Dye of Clendenin, brothers, Keith Rhodes, Steve (Kathy) Rhodes, Jerry Rhodes, all of Clendenin, grandchildren, Brad, Todd, Stormie, David, Davada, and Dakota, sisters-in-law, Cleo Rhodes, Cathy Rhodes, Marie Rhodes, and Betty Jane Carte of Elkview, six great-grandchildren, and the newest addition, Preston.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, September 28, at Ed's Fork Community Church, Reamer Road, Leatherwood, Clendenin, with Pastor Wayne Stewart officiating. Burial will follow at Elk Hills Memorial Park, Big Chimney, WV.
Family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church.
The family would like to thank Kanawha Hospice for their help during Glenna's illness.
Arrangements are in the care of Elk Funeral Home, 2001 Pennsylvania Ave., Charleston, WV.
